This comfortable hotel is ideally situated opposite the entrance to the Lost City of Petra. Having explored the wonders of this unique site, guests can relax by the outdoor pool or enjoy a rejuvenating visit to the steam room. Soak in the atmosphere of an Arabian yesteryear with a coffee in the Al Multaqa lounge within the central atrium or take in wonderful views of the Petra mountains over drinks on the rooftop terrace. The hotel also offers an international buffet in the Al Saraya Restaurant and fine Mediterranean cuisine at Al Iwan. Spacious guest rooms are comfortable and modern, while Junior Suites are larger and have a sitting area. This is a delightful place to stay when visiting Petra.

Trailfinders' Simon Woodward gives an insight into Mövenpick Resort Petra
Mövenpick Resort Petra Expert Review
Simon Woodward
Mövenpick Resort Petra is the closest hotel to Petra’s entrance gates (a 5 minute walk), which is a welcome relief when returning from a long day’s sightseeing in Petra.
The hotel is pleasingly compact with three restaurants (buffet, bar and fine dining) all accessed from a covered central courtyard. Service was quick and polite and the food was very good. The hotel has a rooftop bar which opens between May and October.
Rooms are modern, spacious and well equipped with a balcony.
Top tip: the proximity to Petra makes an early start to beat the crowds much more palatable. Once inside Petra gates, the walk to the Siq takes approximately 20 minutes and then another 20 minute walk to the Treasury. We arrived at the gates at 7am, and while we were far from alone, we were able to walk the last twenty metres of the Siq, with the Treasury slowly revealed, rose pink in the early morning light, in isolation.
