Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives

The seaplane transfer was an incredible way to arrive at this fabulous resort. As the plane lands you're met by your butler who, after a drink of bubbles, takes you straight to your villa (you actually check-in to the hotel at the airport lounge).

We stayed in a Water Villa which is on the quietest side of the island (and I personally thought we were closer to the most beautiful stretches of beach) and although you don't get the sunsets of the Horizon Water Villas, you do get sunrises instead! The villa itself was lovely but it was the spacious deck and steps down to the water that were the star. The colour of the sea was mesmerising. Make sure you pick up your snorkelling gear from the watersports centre - we saw rays under our villa!

The island is fairly large and the facilities are spread out so it was nice to meander across the resort enjoying the tropical flora (and watching the fruit bats!), and the island's size means you don't feel claustrophobic being stuck in the same place!

There is a large choice of restaurants, all of which were excellent and I was really impressed with quality and variety of food on offer.

The Spa had an incredible setting and if you're on the All Inclusive package you get a free hour in a completely private hydrotherapy area (for sauna, steam room and hot and cold pools). The massage treatments were bliss too.

We had a fabulous time here and I highly recommend it.
