Tucked away in the hamlet of Churu, a stay in this lovingly restored haveli ensures you are in good company – it was originally built as a guesthouse for the erstwhile King of Bikaner! Guaranteed to take your breath away, the hotel is a real architectural wonder. The exterior has been repainted the original shade of aqua and is awash with stucco figurines, from dancing girls to 1930s military gentlemen with rows of medals. Meals are served in the hotel dining room, though the hotel can also arrange a magical candlelit dinner around an ancient water reservoir or a sundowner on a private reserve in the Thar Desert. A range of experiences (own expense) are also available from exploring the countryside on a jeep safari to uncovering the lavishly painted mansions of Churu on a heritage walk. Haveli Rooms are simple but classically decorated, some with an outside terrace. The Green, Red or Yellow Murals Rooms boast the original, unrestored intricately painted walls that the king and his royal retinue would have enjoyed.
Please note due to the historic nature of this property, we do not recommend it for the less mobile.
