The iconic Palace on Wheels takes you on a spectacular journey through the heart of Rajasthan. With your passenger cabin modelled on the private carriages used by former maharajas, Governor Generals and Viceroys of India and surrounded by traditionally dressed attendants, it is easy to feel like a maharaja of old as you explore this captivating region. The train accommodates a maximum of 82 guests. Over 25 staff are on hand including the delightful team of Khidmatgars, the train’s turban-wearing attendants, one of whom is assigned to each carriage. Delicious meals can be enjoyed in the 2 dining cars and the bar is a popular meeting point to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink with your fellow passengers. Each carriage has its own dedicated lounge area which provides the perfect spot to curl up with a book - the attached pantry provides beverages and refreshments to the accompaniment of soothing piped music. There is also a spa cabin offering a range of therapeutic massage treatments as well as small gym. The 41 cabins are comfortable and traditional in style. They each feature an en suite bathroom (shower only). Deluxe Cabins (3 cabins per carriage) are twin bedded and compact. Super Deluxe Suites (2 cabins per carriage) are also available, which are more spacious with double beds.
Please note The Palace on Wheels is a completely non-smoking train.
