Farewell Harbour Lodge

Located off the northeast coast of Vancouver Island, this family owned and operated lodge sits in a sheltered inlet on the edge of Broughton Archipelago – British Columbia’s largest marine park and a wildlife wonderland. Accessible by boat from Alder Bay near Port Hardy, guests receive a warm welcome and briefing on arrival. Rooms are located in the floating section of the lodge or on stilts perched above the water. Activities can be tailored to the size of each group and your preferences, and passionate guides ensure you have optimal chances of seeing bears. Travel deep into the surrounding estuaries by boat in search of grizzly and black bears, and perhaps choose a full day marine tour in search of the resident Orca population (from mid Jul to Sep) or the majestic Humpback, Dall’s Porpoises or Pacific White Sided Dolphins (Jun to mid Jul). You’ll also have the chance to learn about the customs and history of the local Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation, as tours pass ancient village sites and pictograph rock art.
