Located on the northern tip of Newfoundland, Quirpon Island is accessed by a scenic boat transfer through the majestic Iceberg Alley. This simple retreat, a restored lighthouse keeper’s home, was built in 1922 and the lighthouse is still in operation today. After a friendly welcome from the innkeepers, enjoy a generous homemade meal, enhanced by warm hospitality and stories of the island’s rich history. Come morning, head back onto the ocean for a guided zodiac exploration in search of the wildlife which inhabits the island’s rugged coastline. Keep your eyes peeled for playful porpoise, a variety of birdlife and for those lucky enough, various species of whales which thrive in the area. Spend the afternoon traversing the picturesque hiking trails or further exploring the water on a guided kayaking tour (payable locally). Between May and late June, watch icebergs gently float by through the Atlantic, a unique spectacle visible from the cosy indoor viewing station. With amazing whale watching opportunities and breathtaking scenery, Quirpon Lighthouse Inn offers guests a unique and truly unforgettable experience.
Please note Hotel open seasonally late May - mid Sep. Two night min stay applies.
