Itinerary
Day 1 Antananarivo
Arrive in Antananarivo and explore the city at leisure before meeting up with your fellow travellers this evening.
Day 2 Antananarivo to Ifaty
Leave the capital behind and fly to Ifaty, on the shores of the Mozambican Channel. The rest of the day is spent at leisure.
Days 3-4 Ifaty
Enjoy two full days exploring this tropical paradise with a range of optional excursions. Choices include hiking in the Spiny Forest Reserve or getting up close to the marine life. Make sure you leave time to relax on the white sandy beach.
Day 5 Ifaty to Ranohira
Drive from the beautiful beaches of Ifaty through the vast desert landscape, passing Mahafaly tombs and giant baobab trees en route Ranohira.
Day 6 Isalo NP
Spend a full day exploring Isalo National Park on foot, stopping off for a relaxing swim in a natural lagoon and waterfalls. If you’re lucky, you may see sifaka lemurs.
Day 7 Ranohira to Ambalavao
Journey north and visit the Anja Community Reserve to see groups of ring-tailed lemurs before arriving at the rural town of Ambalavao.
Day 8 Ambalavao to Ranomafana
Travel to Ranomafana village, named after the hot springs of the area and gateway to Ranomafana National Park, one of the most important conservation sites in Madagascar.
Day 9 Ranomafana to Antsirabe
Leave the rainforest of Ranomafana behind and travel to the town of Antsirabe, surrounded by volcanic lakes, passing rice paddies along the way
Day 10 Antsirabe Spend the whole day exploring the local life and communities of the Antsirabe highlands. Choose between a longer or shorter walk and visit villages along the route where you’ll witness daily activities.
Day 11 Antsirabe to Andasibe NP
Travel to Andasibe National Park with scenic stops en route. After the journey, opt to go on a night walk to observe local wildlife such as frogs, reptiles, mice, and lemurs.
Day 12 Andasibe NP
Spend the day exploring the Indri Special Reserve, home to a number of lemurs, chameleons and the rarely seen blue coua birds.
Days 13-14 Andasibe NP to Antananarivo
Travel back to Antananarivo for your final night. On day 14, depart anytime for your onward flight.
