Marrakech

When deciding where to go in Morocco, Marrakech is probably top of most people's lists.

A colourful and atmospheric city, Marrakech offers an intoxicating mix of old and new. Immerse yourself in the cultural charms of Djemaa el Fna Square, filled with snake charmers, fortune tellers and street vendors. Uncover the maze of narrow alleyways and colourful old souks of the medina (old town), or for a calmer ambience, head to chic Ville Nouvelle which offers a host of hip galleries, leafy parks and trendy restaurants.

High Atlas Mountains

Located just a short distance away from bustling Marrakech, the High Atlas Mountains are North Africa’s highest mountain range and offer some of the most awe-inspiring scenery in Morocco. Dotted with remote Berber villages and gorgeous flora-filled valleys, the main draws to this beautiful region are the superb trekking opportunities, suitable for beginners and more advanced hikers, and picturesque relaxing retreats.

These beautiful mountains should be on every travellers list when deciding where to go in Morocco.

Essaouira

Boasting a beautiful stretch of windswept, golden beach and a friendly vibe, the delightful Mediterranean-like port town of Essaouira is the perfect spot to relax. Explore the winding lanes of the medina, crammed with art galleries, boutiques and cafés, or head to the buzzing harbour to see the local fishermen bringing in the day’s catch.

Home to a wide variety of superb restaurants, a trip to Essaouira would not be complete without sampling some delicious fresh seafood!

Rabat

Despite being the capital city of Morocco, charming Rabat boasts a laidback vibe and is a great place to spend a couple of chilled out days. The picturesque Bou Regreg river cuts the city in half. On one side is the old medina, its famed blue alleys enclosed by impressive sandstone walls, and on the other is Ville Nouvelle, filled with palm-lined boulevards, fancy restaurants and a marina.

Fez

Arguably the most beautiful city in Morocco, Fez is home to the oldest medina in the country and offers a real step back in time. Housing a range of souks – from copper and fresh food to dye, weaving and carpentry – as well as ancient fountains, hammams and a staggering 175 mosques, it’s easy to see why some locals never leave its walls.

Offering a rich history, fascinating culture and relaxed pace of life, the city of Fez is a popular choice and should be a must when considering where to go in Morocco.

Casablanca

The port city of Casablanca is the commercial hub of Morocco, yet there is much more to it than first meets the eye. Impressive Art Deco architecture lines the streets, locals gather in vast pedestrian squares, and the grand Notre Dame church and Sacre Cœur are a wonderful testament to the city’s French influence.

History buffs will enjoy a tour of the city, the highlight being a visit to the famed Hassan II Mosque, the third largest in the world, which can be seen from afar across the city skyline.
