This edition sees our Europe Product Manager, Anna Szczepanska, discuss her recent trip to Lanzarote and Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
Where?
Lanzarote and Tenerife, an exciting twin centre holiday that combines sandy beaches and the mighty Mount Teide with jagged lava fields, volcanoes, and picturesque whitewashed villages.
Located in the Canary Islands and only a four hour flight from the UK, these islands are more popular now than ever.
The Canary Islands can be explored any time of the year thanks to the subtropical climate, meaning hot summers and mild winters and most importantly all year-round sunshine.
Why go?
Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach escape, spectacular scenery or fun activities, Lanzarote and Tenerife have it all.
Tenerife boasts idyllic sandy beaches, calm blue waters, miles of lovely coastlines and an imposing volcano in Teide National Park. Here you will also find secluded coves, lush forests, and a plethora of walking trails.
Lanzarote is often likened to the surface of the moon due to its unique shaped volcanic cones and striking red and black lava fields in Timanfaya National Park. There is also a variety of wine regions, beautiful golden and black sand beaches, and hidden caverns.
Highlight?
For me one of the highlights were the incredible hotels and their fantastic service and facilities. I loved and would highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama and Bahia del Duque in Tenerife and Secrets Lanzarote and Hotel Fariones in Lanzarote especially for those looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway with superb service.
Whether you are travelling solo, in a couple, or with family or friends, there are plenty of great accommodations on offer to suit all.
Top tip?
Flights between Canary Islands are all less than one hour long therefore it is super easy to combine your visit to experience the contrasting scenery of the islands!
