Day 1: Casablanca

Begin your adventure in the port city of Casablanca, known for its striking Art Deco architecture and French inspired landmarks from Notre Dame to the Sacre-Coeur. Upon arrival, transfer to your grand hotel to meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers. Get to know your new companions over a lovely evening meal at a local restaurant.

Days 2-3: Fes

Spend your morning in Casablanca with a visit to the opulent Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country, before wandering along the city’s seafront lined with rooftop restaurants and cafés. Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s calm capital city, to tour the cultural highlights, from the Royal Palace, the home of the king of Morocco, to the soaring Hassan Tower. Travel to Meknes, discovering the Bab el-Mansour remnants leading the way to the imperial city before continuing to your final stop of the day, Fes. Complete your day with a fabulous Moroccan ‘Highlight Dinner’ with meze plates, aromatic tagines and entertainment in an ancient palace at the entrance to the Medina. 

The following day, join your Local Expert for a tour of the ancient Medina and a look at one of the world’s oldest universities, before exploring the colourful souks to learn about the ancient craft of carpet making, pottery and baking.

Day 4: Erfoud

Leave the bustling city behind and head for the High Atlas Mountains. Stop for lunch in the market town of Midelt, pass the scenic Ziz Gorges and Er Rachidia, a city built by the French at an important crossroads, before arriving at the striking Sahart Desert town of Erfoud by the evening. Walk amongst the red sand buildings before booking an ‘Optional Experience’ to marvel at the glorious sunset on a four-wheel drive.

Day 5: Ouarzazate

Discover the dramatic scenery of the Todra Gorge, known as the Grand Canyon of the Sahara, boasting beautiful orange-coloured limestone.  Journey along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs for an ‘Insight Experience’ which allows you to connect with locals at a traditional Nomad house to sample authentic Berber tea. Conclude your day at Ouarzazate, an iconic filming location for Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars.

Days 6-7: Marrakech

Marvel at the wonder of Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s finest kasbahs showcasing South Moroccan architecture, before continuing to the glistening city of Marrakech. Meet with the ladies of a local women’s cooperative for tea and cakes at their community for a ‘Make Travel Matter Experience’ before spending the afternoon in Marrakech at leisure.

Explore the highlights with a Local Expert and immerse yourself in the cultural charms of the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, the maze of the Medina and visit the Koutoubia Mosque and its minaret that characterises the city skyline. The rest of the day is yours to do what you wish. Ask your Travel Director for their recommendations on how to spend the rest of your time in Marrakech, whether its haggling in the souks or dining at the chic restaurants of the upmarket neighbourhood, Ville Nouvelle.

Day 8: Essaouira

Hit the laidback coastal town of Essaouira with its UNESCO-listed medina, spice-scented streets, narrow alleyways and crescent beach. After an orientation walk with your Travel Director, relax on the golden beach before sampling local seafood and wine at a seafront restaurant.

Days 9-10: Casablanca

Complete your journey in Morocco by returning to the country’s largest city for your final evening. Enjoy an Authentic Dining experience with your Travel Director and fellow travellers at Rick’s Café, an atmospheric restaurant accompanied by live music recreated from the famous 1942 film Casablanca. The following day, bid farewell to Morocco after breakfast.
