Motorhome holidays are the ideal way to blend adventure with relaxation, offering complete freedom to go off the beaten track, cruise leisurely down the open road, or simply explore stunning surroundings at your own pace.

We partner with tried and tested motorhome brands in the USA and Canada, so whether you’re looking to explore beautiful national parks in a Cruise America or Cruise Canada motorhome or opting for a more premium experience with Road Bear or CanaDream, we’ve got you covered. Perhaps you want to discover the striking natural landscapes of New Zealand or Australia in a Maui or Apollo van, or backpack with your friends in a Mighty Camper, we’ll find the right motorhome for you. Campgrounds range from high class sites with full amenities, to family-owned camps. The beauty of a motorhome holiday means you can get closer to what you came to see, with national and state parks offering camping facilities at affordable prices.

There are some common misconceptions about motorhome holidays concerning age, difficulty of driving, and length of rental, so let me break them down for you.

1. “I’m too old to hire a motorhome”

Good news, you can enjoy ‘van life’ at any age (as long as you are 21 or over and have a valid UK driver’s license)! There is no maximum age limit to hire a motorhome, making it the perfect retirement trip or perhaps an exciting way to spend your golden wedding anniversary.

2. “Motorhomes are difficult to drive and have poor mileage”

Although it may feel daunting picking up the keys for your mighty motorhome, driving them is far less complicated than it seems. Motorhomes operate much like a car, especially the Cruise America/ Cruise Canada “C” class, which has a van chassis. To help you budget, you can prepay for a set number of miles, or choose unlimited mileage if you want more freedom and peace of mind. Your Trailfinders travel consultant will be able to walk you through the best options for your desired route.

3. “Motorhomes aren’t suitable for families”

Whilst motorhome holidays are a brilliant way for couples to connect and friends to explore, they are also a fantastic way for families to make lasting memories. Motorhomes provide hassle free accommodation, endless family fun, and a budget-friendly holiday choice. Visit local farm shops en route to enjoy their fresh produce, or simply stock up on groceries and cook al fresco. The flexibility and independence motorhome holidays offer means you can settle immediately, only unpack once, and embark on an adventure you won’t forget.

4. “I can only rent a motorhome for a short period of time”

There is no limit to how long you can hire your motorhome for, be it 7 days or 7 months, you can cruise the open road to your heart’s content. In fact, there are actually special discounts for longer rentals, so time to get planning The Ultimate American Road Trip!

5. “It’s too late for me to book a motorhome holiday for this year”

Due to the variety and size of the fleet on offer, availability is rarely an issue. You have plenty of time left to book for the summer in Canada and USA, or to look forward to some winter sun in Australia and New Zealand. This means that California Cruising holiday you’ve been dreaming of could be just around the corner…
