Tromsø, Norway
Located above the Arctic Circle, Tromsø is considered to have one of the highest probabilities of seeing the Northern Lights in the world. Akureyri, Iceland
Iceland’s lesser-known town of Akureyri is a gateway to the north’s natural wonders including the ethereal Northern Lights, which can be spotted September through to April. Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland

Svalbard, Norway
As the northernmost settlement in the world, you cannot get any better than this! The small town of Longyearbyen is smothered in darkness from mid-November to January which allows Northern Lights to be seen at any time of the day. This is known as the Polar Night and is the perfect time to visit Svalbard if you are planning to tick the Northern Lights off your list. Yukon, Canada
Travel north into the Yukon to Whitehorse city and experience a fantastic display of the Northern Lights over the winter season. Only a two and a half hour flight from Vancouver makes the Yukon an excellent add-on to any winter escape or ski holiday in Western Canada.
