Everest Base Camp Trek, Nepal
Nepal is a magnet for walkers and hikers from across the world and the Everest region needs little introduction. The views are unsurprisingly spectacular but what really stands out is the warmth, stoicism and patience of the wonderful Nepali people.
It’s hard to imagine anywhere being quite so well set up for hikers; teahouses offer a friendly smile and hearty food, the paths are well-maintained and the weather is crisp and dry for six months of the year.
Path of the Gods, Amalfi Coast, Italy
Rising high above the Mediterranean, the Path of the Gods is generally regarded as one of the greatest day walks in Italy. The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful but bustling area and the Path of the Gods offers an escape from the crowds below.

Reaching the peak of Europe’s highest mountain is a hugely technical challenge. But it’s eminently possible to spend seven days hiking a section of the famed Mont Blanc Circuit. This series of paths seamlessly link together to form one of Europe’s most scenic long-distance walking trails.
There are a great variety of itineraries to choose from and all guarantee breath-taking views; it’s just a question of how long you have and what level of comfort you’re after.
