Read on for our guide to some of the best trekking options in Nepal.
Everest Base Camp
The world’s highest and most famous mountain is just one of a collection of stunning peaks in the Everest region. The route to Base Camp, often referred to as ‘the steps to heaven’, provides fabulous photo opportunities at every turn.
Probably Nepal’s busiest trail, the views are especially beautiful once you reach the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar – from this amazing vantage point, you’ll experience sensational sunrise views.
Altitude: Maximum 5,545m, average 3,900m
Trekking Accommodation: Tea house accommodation
The Annapurnas
Regarded as one of Nepal’s most scenic regions, the Annapurnas pack huge diversity into the wide range of treks available here. The maximum altitude and average altitude is lower than Everest Base Camp but the trekking can still be quite challenging, especially on the longer treks such as the Annapurna Sanctuary or Annapurna Base Camp.
We also offer private treks, some staying in comfortable lodge accommodation as well as more basic tea houses.
Altitude: Maximum 4,130m, average: 2,440m
Trekking Accommodation: Tea house or lodge accommodation
Day Hikes
If you don’t have the time or inclination to undertake one of our longer treks in Nepal, why not add one of the popular short day hikes we offer from either Kathmandu or Pokhara to your Nepal holiday? Walking with a private guide, you’ll discover ancient temples and remote villages inhabited by multiple ethnic groups.
The moderate climbs can be breathtaking, in more ways than one, but you’re sure to be rewarded with spectacular views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks.
Altitude: Maximum 2,000m
