Itinerary
Days 1-3 Chicago
With an impressive setting on the shores of Lake Michigan and boasting towering skyscrapers and world-class attractions, Chicago really is an incredible city. Explore the picturesque parks, stroll the Riverwalk, ride the Ferris wheel on Navy Pier and admire the vistas from the top of the John Hancock Tower. In the evening enjoy live music at one of the city’s many acclaimed blues clubs – Chicago’s been attracting blues musicians to the city since the 1920s.
Day 4 Chicago to Indianapolis
This morning pick up your car and drive southwards, into Indiana and to Indianapolis, where the famous Indy 500 race takes place. The city has a thriving craft beer scene and there's also the Cultural Trail which is a great way to explore Indy on foot or by bike.
Day 5 Indianapolis to Louisville
Continue on to Kentucky where characterful Louisville awaits.
Day 6 Louisville
This welcoming and handsome city is the home of the Kentucky Derby. As well as touring the Churchill Downs race track, why not pay the Muhammad Ali Center a visit to discover the life and legacy of this legendary boxer. Of course, Kentucky is famous for its bourbon and a fun way to explore the city is to partake in the Urban Bourbon Trail!
Day 7 Louisville to Lexington
Continue onwards to the heart of scenic bluegrass country and arrive in Lexington.
Day 8 Lexington
This elegant and affluent city is known as the horse capital of the world. Visit the fantastic Kentucky Horse Park with its museum and equine centre or head to one of the many bourbon distilleries to learn how America’s only native spirit is made.
Day 9 Lexington to Gatlinburg
Leave Kentucky behind as you drive to Tennessee and to the quirky town of Gatlinburg, nestled at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Enjoy this small town’s fun atmosphere and sip locally brewed moonshine.
Day 10 Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Spend today exploring the beautiful mountain scenery of this popular national park. As well as lofty peaks discover babbling brooks, ancient forests and alpine hiking trails dotted with stunning, year-round wildflowers.
Day 11 Gatlinburg to Nashville
Next stop is Music City! Nashville is the home of country music and purveyor of good times.
Days 12-13 Nashville
Learn about the legends of country at the Country Music Hall of Fame and take a tour of Historic RCA Studio B where many iconic artists recorded, including Elvis. In the evening the neon lights of Broadway draw you to the many fabulous honky tonks that line the street, so get ready to dance to some toe-tapping live music!
