Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. Climb Phou Si hill for outstanding views over the city, river and surrounding countryside and stroll to the nearby night market to enjoy dinner at L’Eléphant, one of the city’s best restaurants.
Day 2 Luang Prabang & Kuang Si Falls
Explore the charming streets of Luang Prabang and visit some of the city’s most important temples on this morning tour. After lunch drive to the beautiful Kuang Si Falls where there is the opportunity to take a refreshing swim. This evening, you will have the unique opportunity to attend a centuries old Baci blessing ceremony at a traditional temple.
Day 3 Luang Prabang & Pak Ou Caves
Head to the Luang Prabang peninsula where the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers merge, and explore historic Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most enchanting temples in Laos. Take a scenic cruise to the revered Pak Ou Caves, which are adorned with thousands of Buddha sculptures. Enjoy lunch on board against this stunning backdrop of towering limestone mountains before returning to Luang Prabang for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 4 Luang Prabang to Vientiane
Depart Luang Prabang and travel the scenic journey to Vientiane by high speed train on the new Laos-China railway. If you would prefer to discover more of the country and take this journey by road we can arrange overnight stops in pretty Vang Vieng or the mysterious Plain of Jars. Please ask your travel consultant for additional information.
Day 5 Vientiane
Travel out of the city to visit the eccentric Buddha Park. Set on the banks of the Mekong, this park was created by a Lao shaman in the 1950s and is filled with over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues. Head back to Vientiane and visit the Lao Disabled Women Development centre which aims to bring knowledge and skills to disabled women to enable them to become selfsufficient. Finish your day with a city tour of Vientiane’s most important temples and monuments.
Day 6 Vientiane
Transfer to the airport.
Additional Options: Easily added to day 3 of this tour, a Luang Prabang Evening Cooking Class, the perfect way to learn more about Lao culture and cuisine, which relies on fresh ingredients and intriguing flavours.
