Itinerary
Weeks 1-7 Independent Travel: Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile
Arrive in Lima and set off on your independent adventure through historic cities, lunar landscapes and dramatic desert. Your travel pass includes local transport and must do experiences without fixed dates, so you can follow your heart all the way to Santiago. Just make sure you’re in Cusco to catch your Inca Trail trek, crossing the mysterious mountain pass to Machu Picchu with a local guide, a trusty crew of porters and a group of new amigos.
Weeks 8-9 Group Adventure Tour: Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, Argentina
After hopping from Santiago to Buenos Aires, meet your local guide and group for your adventure tour to Ushuaia. Starting with a flight down to El Calafate, head off the beaten track through towering mountains, zigzagging through Patagonian wilderness to El Chalten. Spend your days in the great outdoors whilst resting your head in comfortable hotels, plus a couple of nights of participation camping to get front row seats to some of the most stunning scenery on the planet. Listen out for ethereal creaking from the ice field of the Perito Merino Glacier, trek towards the jagged horizon of Torres del Paine, and ride on horseback in Tierra del Fuego before reaching the southernmost city in the world.
Weeks 10 Independent Travel: Ushuaia to Buenos Aires
Finish your tour with a flight to Buenos Aires, a city of passion and faded grandeur. Say farewell to your new friends and check into the sociable Selina Palermo Soho for some time to explore the city’s colourful barrios independently. Not ready to head home? Continue travelling around South America or perhaps make your way to Australia for a working holiday.
