Itinerary
Day 1 Lima
Upon arrival transfer to the 5★ Country Club Lima Hotel in the lovely suburb of San Isidro. Relax by the outdoor pool, dine on innovative Peruvian dishes in the exquisite restaurant and be sure to visit the English Bar for a pisco sour, said to be one of the best in town.
Day 2 Lima
See the highlights of the ‘City of Kings’ with a half day guided tour. Peru’s dynamic capital offers a wealth of fascinating sites, including the historic colonial mansion of Casa de Aliaga, home to generations of the same family since 1535, and the renowned Larco Museum.
Day 3 Lima to the Sacred Valley
Fly to Cusco and drive to the Sacred Valley, stopping en route to learn about traditional weaving techniques at an Andean textiles centre. Visit the observatory built by the Incas in Pisac town and indulge in an authentic homemade lunch at a local hacienda. Spend the next two nights at the magnificent 5★ Tambo del Inka, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery.
Day 4 Sacred Valley
Today head out for a full day excursion through the majestic Sacred Valley. Visit the Maras salt pools, the impressive circular Moray agricultural terraces and the picturesque village of Chinchero.
Day 5 Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu
Visit the imposing Inca citadel of Ollantaytambo before boarding a train to Aguas Calientes, the closest town to famed Machu Picchu. Join an expert guide for an afternoon tour to discover the history and majesty of this incredible site. Stay at the 4★+ Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel, set against a backdrop of the imposing Andean mountains and rushing Urubamba River.
Day 6 Machu Picchu to Cusco
This morning is at leisure. Choose to return to Machu Picchu to explore this magical area further. Later board the Hiram Bingham, A Belmond Train to Cusco and enjoy live entertainment and a sumptuous dinner on board. On arrival in Cusco, check into the opulent 5★ Palacio del Inka, A Luxury Collection Hotel. Designed in the style of a colonial convent and centrally located facing the famous Koricancha, or Temple of the Sun, this stunning property is a fantastic base to spend time in this delightful city.
Day 7 Cusco
Enjoy a guided walking tour taking in Plaza de Armas, San Pedro Market and the fortress ruins of Sacsayhuamán, from where you can marvel at sweeping panoramic views of Cusco town.
Day 8 Cusco to Lima
Fly to Lima for your onward arrangements.
