Itinerary
Day 1 Auckland
Arrive in Auckland and transfer to your hotel.
Days 2-3 Auckland to Bay of Islands
Head north to the Bay of Islands, marvelling en route at the impressive size of a mighty kauri tree. On day 3, enjoy a full day at leisure in this beautiful area where you can sail, fish or relax on the beach.
Day 4 Bay of Islands to Auckland
Take a morning cruise to Cape Brett and the Hole in the Rock. Take in the incredible scenery and look out for marine wildlife before returning to Auckland.
Days 5-6 Auckland to Rotorua
Travel to Waitomo and go underground to see the famous glowworms before continuing to Rotorua to discover spectacular geysers at the geothermal wonderland of Te Puia. This evening, enjoy a traditional Maori feast and, on day 6, visit the Agrodome.
Day 7 Rotorua to Wellington
Depart Rotorua en route to beautiful Lake Taupo, the largest freshwater lake in New Zealand. Continue south across the volcanic plateau of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park on your way to Wellington. Your evening has been left free for you to explore New Zealand’s vibrant capital independently.
Day 8 Wellington to Christchurch
Cruise across Cook Strait on the Interislander ferry to Picton. Continue by road southwards along the Pacific coastline to Christchurch.
Day 9 Christchurch to Fox Glacier
Journey through the magnificent Southern Alps aboard the TranzAlpine train. Continue down the scenic west coast to the dramatic Fox Glacier.
Days 10-11 Fox Glacier to Queenstown
Follow the winding Haast River through the Southern Alps to Queenstown and explore at your own pace. Ride the Skyline Gondola high above the city to the top of Bob’s Peak.
Day 12 Queenstown to Milford Sound & Te Anau
Cruise the length of the stunning Milford Sound and marvel at the breathtaking scenery. Travel to lakeside Te Anau set beneath the Kepler Mountains.
Day 13 Te Anau to Dunedin
Continue through rural Southland to Dunedin and enjoy a city tour.
Day 14 Dunedin to Lake Tekapo
See the unusual domed Moeraki Boulders and towering Mount Cook before a farewell dinner at Lake Tekapo.
Day 15 Lake Tekapo to Christchurch
Visit the famous Church of the Good Shepherd before arriving in Christchurch where your tour concludes.
