Days 1-2  Auckland  
Discover this cosmopolitan city’s history and culture on a morning tour.      

Days 3-4  Auckland to Rotorua  
Pick up your car and head to the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua, home to steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and tremendous geysers.      

Days 5-6  Rotorua to Turangi  
Head to Turangi, your base to explore the volcanic landscape of Tongariro National Park. Experience one of New Zealand’s greatest day hikes – the spectacular Tongariro Alpine Crossing.      

Days 7-8  Turangi to Wellington  
Pass through pretty countryside and then uncover the museums and gourmet cafés of New Zealand’s capital.    

Days 9-10  Wellington to Blenheim
Journey by ferry across the Cook Strait to the winery town of Blenheim. The next day enjoy an amazing tour cruising through the Marlborough Sounds and tasting delicious Sauvignon Blanc.      

Days 11-12  Blenheim to Kaikoura
Follow the coast to the picture perfect seaside town of Kaikoura, famed for its abundant marine life. Join a whale watching cruise to see these magnificent animals in the wild.  

Days 13-14  Kaikoura to Christchurch      
Continue to Christchurch and drop off your car. Enjoy a full day discovering this revitalised and arty city as well as the fantastic culinary scene.    

Day 15  Christchurch to Franz Josef
Rise early to board the TranzAlpine train to Greymouth. This iconic journey is one of the most picturesque rail routes in the world, passing remarkable mountain scenery via Arthur’s Pass. Arrive at lunchtime and pick up your car, before continuing on the scenic drive to Franz Josef.      

Day 16  Franz Josef      
This picturesque village is surrounded by rainforest and sits close to the base of the stunning Franz Josef glacier. Opt to take to the skies by helicopter and experience an exhilarating hike across the ice.    

Day 17  Franz Josef to Wanaka      
One of the most breathtaking drives on your journey, meander down the west coast past majestic Mount Cook and stunning coastal vistas. In Wanaka, opt to kayak on the crystal clear lake and enjoy the lakeside cafés.  

Days 18-19  Wanaka to Queenstown      
This morning enjoy a thrilling jet boat ride and a scenic wilderness walk in the remarkable Mount Aspiring National Park, before driving the short distance to Queenstown via the spectacular Crown Range Road. Discover this alpine haven on a tour of the area and sample the fantastic dining options.      

Day 20  Milford Sound      
Head out on a cruise to experience the awe-inspiring scenery of Milford Sound, dominated by the imposing Mitre Peak.      

Day 21  Queenstown
