Itinerary

SPRING
Pushing winter aside, the sun reappears and infuses new life along Norway’s coastline during April and May. In the south, snow and ice start to melt, rivers emerge and colourful blooms dot the landscape. Further north above the Arctic Circle, white mountain tops cling on to the remaining traces of winter. A spring voyage allows you to experience three seasons in one journey during coastal Norway’s reawakening!

SUMMER
Summer (June to September) is the most popular time to explore Norway’s coastline. Enjoy more of the Land of the Midnight Sun with extended daylight hours in which to explore the many highlights of coastal Norway above the Arctic Circle. Special seasonal sailings venture into beautiful Trollfjord and Lyngenfjord, a fantastic showcase of Norway’s majestic fjords in  all their beauty.

WINTER
Winter (October to March) is perhaps the most beautiful season to explore Norway’s coastline. In the south, unwind amongst winter´s soft pastel colours and discover magical landscapes covered in deep white snow reflecting the polar twilight. Crossing into the Arctic Circle gives you a fantastic opportunity to experience one of nature’s best shows, the mesmerising Northern Lights.

SEE THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

The Northern Lights season is from October to March and Hurtigruten offer a huge array of voyages for you to witness this spectacle. The lights often appear directly above the ship giving you a front row view of one of Mother Nature’s best light shows. Hurtigruten sail in the Aurol Zone above the Arctic Circle, an area of intense Aurora Borealis activity around the North Pole. That means more chances to see the aurora and as the ships are away from the artificial lights on land, they appear brighter and more vivid.

Departs: Regularly year round
