Walks of Cinque Terre & Portofino

Day 1  Moneglia          
Make your way to Moneglia where you’ll stay in a family run hotel for the week. This lovely town is regarded as one of Italy’s most beautiful.          

Day 2  Moneglia      
Travel by train to Deiva Marina, then walk through shrubland and picturesque woods to a hilltop with stunning panoramic views of the coastline and the Promontory of Portofino. Then take an ondulating trail with beautiful sea views to the seaside village of Framura for lunch. Finish with a steep climb, rewarded with magnificent views before taking the train back to Mongelia.    

Day 3  Cinque Terre          
Formed of five coastal villages linked by walking trails, the Cinque Terre is one of Europe’s finest walking areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. You’ll begin your exploration with a walk on the Via Dell’Amore taking you through terraced vineyards and olive groves.          

Day 4  Portofino        
Take the train to Santa Margherita Ligure, a charming town north of Moneglia. Follow a scenic trail to the once sleepy fishing village of Portofino, now a playground for the rich and famous. Admire the harbour views and perhaps enjoy a well-earned gelato.        

Day 5  Moneglia        
You’re free today to explore as you wish. Choose to relax on the local beach or you might wish to visit the charming port city of Genoa, or maybe Lucca, one of Tuscany’s finest ancient cities.      

Day 6  Chiavari        
Your day begins with a short train ride to Rapallo before a cable car trip to the Sanctuary of Montallegro. From there, walk through quiet woodland and enjoy glimpses of the shimmering sea through the trees, eventually arriving at Chiavari for a delicious wine tasting.    

Day 7  Cinque Terre        
Head back to the Cinque Terre and explore some of the lesser known trails. The exact path you’ll take will depend on local track conditions, but you will usually be higher in the hills above the dramatic coastline, allowing for spectacular views.          

Day 8  Moneglia      
Your tour ends this morning in Moneglia.
