Itinerary

Day 1 London to Turin, Italy  
Board the Eurostar at London St. Pancras and head to Paris where you will change trains and set off through the French countryside en route to your first stop in Turin, Italy.  

Days 2 Turin to Rome  
Depart Turin and head to the charming Tuscan city of Pisa where you will have plenty of time to explore the area and climb the famous Leaning Tower before continuing on to Rome, your base for the next three nights.    

Days 3-4 Rome  
Wake up in Rome and discover the ancient wonders of this city with visits to the historical icons of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum before having the afternoon free to explore at leisure. The following day experience a lesser known side of the capital by exploring the pretty Testaccio district, home to the legendary tomb of Remus as well as its very own ancient pyramid.  

Days 5-6 Rome to Bari  
Travel to the port city of Bari by train. After an orientation walk on arrival you will have the remaining afternoon free to explore and try some of the incredible local food. Delve further into the gastronomic heart of Puglia the following day and sample DOP bread at a bakery in Altamura and organic cheese on a farm in Putigano before visiting the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Alberobello.  

Days 7-8 Bari to Kalavryta, Greece  
Enjoy one last free morning to explore Bari or opt to take a day trip to nearby fishing towns before catching the overnight ferry to Greece. Awake the following day to beautiful views across the Adriatic as you sail past the islands of Cephalonia and Ithaca en route to Patras port. From here switch to the railway for a dramatic train ride past the ravines and waterfalls of Vouraikos Gorge before arriving at your destination in Kalavryta.  

Day 9 Kalavryta to Athens  
Take the train further up the mountain to Zachlorou where you can opt to join a walk to the Mega Speleo, one of the oldest monasteries in Greece. From here continue by rail to Athens where you will spend the next two nights.  

Days 10-11 Athens  
Spend the last days discovering Greece’s enchanting Capital of Athens. Begin by exploring the modern side of the city with visits to the Parliament buildings and Syntagma Square before experiencing the older cobbled streets of the Plaka district. Finish with a trip to the legendary Acropolis featuring the iconic Parthenon and the ancient ruins of the Temple of Athena Nike. Your tour finishes the following day after breakfast with a transfer to the airport.
