Itinerary
Day 1 Tokyo
Arrive in Tokyo and make your way to your hotel.
Day 2 Tokyo to Kanazawa
Collect your Japan Rail Pass and board a bullet train to Kanazawa in the afternoon.
Day 3 Kanazawa
Today is filled with authentic Japanese culture. From a visit to the Higashi geisha district to soaking in the beauty of Kenroku-en Garden and discovering the historic Nagamachi samurai district.
Day 4 Kanazawa to Takayama
Head to Takayama and take in the beautiful scenery of this mountain town. Take some free time in the afternoon to explore the charming area.
Day 5 Takayama
Today visit the Hida No Sato folk village and wander the old town’s quaint streets lined with sake breweries and craft shops.
Day 6 Takayama to Hiroshima
Continue by train to Hiroshima and learn about Hiroshima’s tragic history at the Peace Memorial Museum and Park before an afternoon at leisure to further explore this moving city.
Day 7 Miyajima Island
Take a short ferry ride to sacred Miyajima, home of the famous Itsukushima Shrine. Explore the island’s shrines and temples and meet the friendly local deer.
Day 8 Hiroshima to Kyoto
The ultra-modern bullet train whisks you to historic Kyoto for a three-night stay. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in this fascinating city.
Days 9-10 Kyoto
Enjoy a tour of the impressive Nijo Castle and the golden pavilion of Kinkakuji. There’s also plenty of time to explore some of Kyoto’s gardens and pagodas.
Day 11 Kyoto to Fujikawaguchiko
Travel to Fujikawaguchiko and choose to visit an onsen before enjoying a multi course Japanese kaiseki dinner this evening.
Day 12 Fujikawaguchiko to Tokyo
Spend a morning in Kawaguchiko exploring the Five Lakes region. Later, travel to Tokyo by train.
Days 13-14 Tokyo
Explore this dynamic city as you wish and be sure to fit in some shopping before a farewell dinner with the group. On day 14 your tour comes to an end.
