Itinerary
Day 1 Anchorage
Alaska’s largest city has strong links to Native American history, explore the excellent museums depicting its past.
Days 2-3 Anchorage to Seward
Collect your motorhome and head south to Seward. Spend the next two days exploring the mountain vistas and shimmering lakes.
Day 4 Kenai Fjords NP
Take a cruise at Kenai Fjords National Park as you glide through the dramatic waterways, passing imposing glaciers and cascading waterfalls.
Day 5 Seward to Girdwood
Travel north to the ski town of Girdwood. Perhaps take in views of the surrounding mountains and alpine forests on the Alyeska Aerial Tram.
Day 6 Girdwood to Valdez
Rise early as you travel to the coastal town of Valdez. With many great viewing points along the way, you’re sure to find the perfect stop for an impromptu lunch.
Day 7 Valdez
Spend the day exploring this beautiful area. With its superb coastal scenery, perhaps take a boat tour or book a sea kayaking trip locally.
Day 8 Valdez to Glennallen
Travel north on the Richardson Highway. Drive by the mighty Worthington Glacier and through Keystone Canyon on the way to the small settlement of Glennallen.
Day 9 Glennallen to Fairbanks
The dramatic landscape continues all the way to Fairbanks. Climb through the high passes of the Alaska Range and look out for moose and caribou.
Day 10 Fairbanks
Explore this relaxed city today. Perhaps visit the Chena River Recreation Area or take a stroll in Pioneer Park.
Day 11 Fairbanks to Denali NP
Marvel at the huge swathes of forest en route to Denali National Park. Denali is a 6 million acre wilderness, home to a wide variety of wildlife and wonderful scenery.
Day 12 Denali NP
Take a backcountry adventure tour today and enjoy a narrated history of the park as you stop at various viewpoints, where you may even spot bears.
Day 13 Denali NP to Talkeetna
Continue to the small town of Talkeetna, filled with art galleries and small restaurants. On a clear day, enjoy views of Denali, the highest mountain in the USA.
Day 14 Talkeetna to Anchorage
Enjoy one last drive through the Alaskan wilderness as you travel back to Anchorage.
Day 15 Anchorage
Your adventure ends today as you drop off your motorhome in time for your onward flight.
