Itinerary

Days 1-2 Broome    
Welcome to Broome! An early start this morning at 7am to meet your fellow travellers, leader and guide. Jump straight into the 4x4 and head to the Dampier Peninsula. Stop for morning tea at Beagle Bay before continuing to One Arm Point, home of the Bardi-Jawi people. After lunch, embark on an extraordinary cruise through the islands of the Giant tides before retuning to Broome for the evening. The next day, take a tour of Australia's oldest pearl farm. Continue to Kooljaman at Cape Leveque and enjoy free time in this coastal paradise before heading back to Broom later on.          

Day 3 Broome to Windjana Gorge          
Embrace an early start this morning and leave Broome when the sun begins to rise. Enjoy a morning tea break by the Fitzroy River and visit the Derby 'Boab Prison Tree' and Mowanjum Aboriginal Art and Cultural Centre. The afternoon is devoted to exploring Tunnel Creek with a local Bunuba guide. From here you’ll travel to Windjana Gorge in time to set up camp and go for a walk down to the gorge itself where you’ll be able to spot freshwater crocodiles and enjoy the sunset over the Napier Range. Tonight, settle into your first night under the Kimberley night sky.      

Day 4 Windjana Gorge to Manning River    
Rise and shine! Head for Bell Gorge early this morning. A hidden highlight of the West Kimberleys, this idyllic retreat boasts cascading waterfalls and crystal clear pools formed over millions of years. Spend a few hours enjoying the serenity, then continue slowly along Gibb River Road to Mt Barnett Cattle Station. On the way, make stops to explore the ancient King Leopold Range. Tonight, camp by the Manning River.          

Day 5 Manning River to Mount Barnett    
Spend today exploring this wild paradise. Cross the Manning River and hike through the rugged King Leopold Ranges to arrive at Manning Gorge. Swim beneath the cascade of Manning Falls, relax in the deep clear pool, discover Aboriginal rock art and look out for wildlife on the edges of the water. Tonight, camp on Mt Barnett Cattle Station.      

Day 6 Mount Barnett to El Questro Wilderness Park      
Continue along the last stretch of the Gibb River Road to the Pentecost Range. En route, stop at a stunning lookout for vistas across the Cockburn Range and the Pentecost River which weaves its way through the mountains and out to the sea. Drive across the iconic river to reach El Questro Wilderness Park.    

Day 7 El Questro Wilderness Park        
Soak in the natural hot springs of Zebedee Springs and hike over the ancient boulders of Emma Gorge, before cooling down in a special waterhole within the sandstone cliffs. This afternoon is free to spend at leisure.      

Days 8 – 9 El Questro Wilderness Park to Lake Argyle
Enjoy some free time to explore Kununurra, before travelling to the shores of Lake Argyle, the heart of the Ord River Irrigation System which has transformed this dry region into a lush oasis. Enjoy some free time to explore the area, before setting up camp along the shores of the lake. The next day is yours to discover all the area has to offer with options to enjoy the lake views from the infinity pool or perhaps explore its waters by kayak.

Day 10 Lake Argyle to Bungle Bungles            
Travel south along the Great Northern Highway to Purnululu National Park, home to the magnificent Bungle Bungles. Enjoy some free time to explore this extraordinary park, including the ‘beehive red sand domes’, before travelling to the new private Bungle Bungle Safari Camp in the heart of the park, the only camp in the park overlooking the Bungle Bungles.      

Day 11 Bungle Bungles
Explore Echidna Chasm, known for its towering Livistonia palm trees and walk into Cathedral Gorge to see the natural made amphitheatre. The afternoon is free, perhaps take an optional scenic flight over the unique landscape of the Bungle Bungles.      

Day 12 Bungle Bungles to Fitzroy Crossing    
Visit the gold rush town of Halls Creek to see the remarkable China Wall and the remote Laarri Aboriginal Art Gallery, en route to Fitzroy Crossing. Tonight, camp on the banks of the Fitzroy River.  

Day 13 Fitzroy Crossing to Broome    
Embark on a cruise through the majestic Geikie Gorge this morning. Learn the fascinating geology of how nature carved this gorge through the Napier Range and keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife, including freshwater crocodiles. Explore Fitzroy Crossing before back to Broome where this tour comes to an end.
