Itinerary
Days 1-3 Melbourne
Explore this cosmopolitan city with its Victorian facades and kooky laneways at your own pace, then browse the boutiques of stylish South Yarra. Time permitting, why not take a day trip to the Yarra Valley to sample delectable Pinot Noir?
Day 4 Melbourne to Phillip Island
Pick up your car this morning and head east to rugged Phillip Island. As dusk approaches, watch the famous penguin parade on Summerland Beach.
Days 5-6 Phillip Island to Foster, near Wilsons Promontory NP
From your base in historic Foster, drive 30 minutes into ‘The Prom’ and be enchanted by its deserted beaches and extensive walking trails through untouched coastal wilderness.
Days 7-8 Foster to Lakes Entrance
Situated where the Southern Ocean meets the Gippsland Lakes and fringed by the spectacular Ninety Mile Beach, Lakes Entrance makes for a relaxing stop. Spend an evening sampling some of the seafood this pretty town is renowned for.
Day 9 Lakes Entrance to Merimbula
This popular holiday town has a busy esplanade lined with cafés and tranquil coastal lakes to explore.
Days 10-11 Merimbula to Canberra
Australia’s capital, Canberra is well worth a stop with a plethora of museums, parks and wonderful restaurants. Admire panoramic views from Mount Ainslie lookout, stroll around the shore of pretty Lake Burley Griffin, visit the National Museum and take a tour of Parliament House.
Days 12-13 Canberra to Jervis Bay
Head back to the coast today to beautiful Jervis Bay, home to powdery white sands, playful bottlenose dolphins and cute penguins, which you can spot on a marine cruise.
Days 14-16 Jervis Bay to Sydney
Drive north to Kiama to view the impressive blowhole, then continue through Royal National Park to spectacular Sydney. Home to the famous Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the historic Rocks area, learn about the Opera House on a fascinating tour or take a tour of some of the city’s foodie hotspots.
Day 17 Sydney
Head to the airport for your onward flight.
