Itinerary
Day 1 Melbourne
Arrive in Melbourne and meet your fellow travellers.
Days 2-3 Melbourne
Join a local author and culinary storyteller on a food tour of Melbourne, considered one of Australia’s gastronomic hubs. Walk through the city’s famed laneways and experience a range of flavours and cuisines before spending the rest of the day at leisure. Day 3 is free to explore so opt to head out on the Great Ocean Road or visit some of the region’s top wineries.
Days 4-5 Melbourne to Uluru
Catch a flight to Uluru, in the heart of the Australian outback, just in time to admire the magnificent sunset and witness the incredible changing colours, while enjoying a glass of sparkling wine. In the early morning of day 5 witness the sunrise over Uluru and see the famous Field of Light installation. After breakfast make your way to Kata Tjuta, Uluru’s neighbouring natural wonder for an unforgettable walk around the base of these amazing rock formations.
Day 6 Uluru to Sydney
This morning enjoy free time and final moments in the Red Centre before flying to Sydney.
Days 7-8 Sydney
Opt to start your day with a walk around The Rocks area, a waterfront neighbourhood that marks the spot of the first European settlement in Australia. Later, join a private tour of the Sydney Opera House and learn about this architectural masterpiece. In the afternoon step aboard a private catamaran for a sunset sail around Sydney’s famous harbour, while tucking into a delicious Australian barbecue dinner. Day 8 is free to explore this amazing city and its surroundings so perhaps stroll around the Sydney Harbour, take a ferry to Manly Beach or spend a full day discovering the Blue Mountains.
Day 9 Sydney to Port Douglas
Today fly to Cairns and travel up the scenic coastal road to Daintree Rainforest, the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. Embark on an interpretive walk with an indigenous guide, learning about the traditional ways of life of the region’s Kuku Yalanji people, before arriving in Port Douglas.
Days 10-11 Port Douglas
Explore the Great Barrier Reef on a full day catamaran tour to the Outer Reef. Immerse yourself in this marine wonderland, while enjoying the warm waters of Australia’s east coast. On day 11 enjoy a free morning before meeting indigenous guides for a welcome ceremony and acquaintance with members of the Kuku Yalanji people.
Day 12 Port Douglas to Cairns
Transfer back to Cairns after breakfast.
