Australia's Iconic Cities by Rail

Days 1-3  Adelaide  
Spend a few days exploring Adelaide, home to fantastic restaurants, art galleries and an array of vineyards on its doorstep. On day 3 head over to Kangaroo Island and discover the unique landscape and wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies and koalas!    

Day 4  Adelaide to Melbourne    
Embark on the Overland train and enjoy the scenic journey and impeccable service as it traverses a diverse range of landscapes. Arrive into Melbourne in the evening.    

Days 5-6  Melbourne    
Discover the highlights of Australia’s cultural capital before heading out onto the Yarra River for a scenic cruise. Why not sample some winein the Yarra Valley one day?    

Day 7  Melbourne to Sydney      
After a day at leisure, in the evening board your sleeper train to Sydney.

Days 8-10  Sydney    
Arrive into Sydney as the city awakes and take in the iconic landmarks of Australia’s capital. Admire sweeping views as you climb Sydney Harbour Bridge, make your way to Bondi Beach to soak up some rays or perhaps take a guided tour of the Sydney Opera House.      

Day 11  Sydney to Brisbane    
Board an early morning train to Brisbane and watch the varied landscapes of the east coast pass you by before arriving in the evening.  

Days 12-14  Brisbane    
Cycle along Brisbane’s scenic riverside and visit the vibrant markets. On day 13, head to the world famous Australia Zoo and get up close to a myriad of Australia’s native fauna.
