Itinerary
Day 1 Uluru
Travel from Alice Springs on board a luxury vehicle, passing through the beautiful MacDonnell Ranges. This afternoon enjoy a leisurely drive to Kata Tjuta and admire the magnificent outback sunset while enjoying canapés and Australian wines.
Day 2 Uluru Sacred Sites & Sunset
Start your day early with a drive to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the Uluru Sunrise Viewing Area. Then continue to Walpa Gorge to explore the tallest formations of Kata Tjuta. Return to Ayers Rock Resort in time for lunch at your own expense and relax for a few hours. After being collected from your hotel visit the Cultural Centre Uluru this afternoon before joining an unforgettable walk around the base of these amazing rock formations. As the sun sets below the horizon witness the incredible changing colours. After sunset, transfer to AAT Kings’ exclusive barbecue site to enjoy variety of Australian meats accompanied by wine or beer.
Day 3 Kings Canyon Rim Walk
Travel through spectacular desert scenery from Ayers Rock Resort. Pass through Curtin Springs Station and view Atila (Mt. Conner). Stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station. Along the way your Driver Guide will provide informative commentary about the history of the surrounding cattle stations on the way to Kings Canyon. Keep a look out for wild horses and camel along the way. Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park at sunrise. Follow the rim of the canyon stopping to look down into the canyon gorge at look-out points. Time permitting, you may choose to descend into the green oasis of the 'Garden of Eden'. The circuit walk takes approximately 3 hours to complete and is rocky and steep in parts. It is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to take an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder strewn canyon floor. You’ll arrive at Kings Canyon Resort in time to relax and have lunch (on your own) before enjoying a spectacular sunset. In the summer months drinks are available for purchase at the sunset viewing area (cash only).
Day 4 Kings Canyon
Enjoy a sleep in and then have a relaxed breakfast a Carmichaels Restaurant. Around lunchtime you will board your coach to transfer to Alice Springs. Along the way stop at Erldunda, a roadhouse located at the junction of the Stuart Highway and Lasseter Highway, where you can purchase afternoon tea. Travel along the Stuart Highway before arriving in Alice Springs.
