Itinerary
Day 1 Sydney to Hunter Valley
Arrive into Sydney and meet your fellow travellers for a welcome meeting followed by a walkabout around The Rocks with an Aboriginal guide. After lunch, rest your feet and enjoy a wine tasting in the beautiful Hunter Valley.
Day 2 Hunter Valley to Port Macquarie
Drive along the scenic coast en route to Port Macquarie. Stop at Crowdy Bay National Park and venture out on a picturesque hike through the forests. Soak in views of golden beaches, rugged rock faces and the glistening peak of Diamond Head.
Day 3 Port Macquarie to Dorrigo NP
Visit the local koala hospital and meet some of the patients before travelling to Dorrigo National Park, famed for its lush rainforest and waterfalls. If time allows, take a refreshing dip in the cascading waters of Dangar Falls.
Days 4-5 Dorrigo NP to Byron Bay
Enjoy a unique, immersive indigenous experience in Orara East State Forest before heading up to the surfer hub of Byron Bay. Day 5 is free to explore Byron Bay at leisure.
Day 6 Byron Bay to Brisbane
This morning visit The Farm, a collection of local businesses on a working farm. Later relax on the shining Gold Coast and enjoy some beach time before continuing to Brisbane.
Day 7 Brisbane to Hervey Bay
Enjoy some free time in Noosa to wander this calm town and perhaps take the Noosa Coastal Walk. End today on the coastal city of Hervey Bay.
Day 8 K’gari (Fraser Island)
Discover the world’s largest sand island on a 4WD adventure. Swim in a crystal clear lake and keep your eyes peeled for the resident dingoes on a nature walk before heading back to Rainbow Beach this evening.
Days 9-10 Hervey Bay to Airlie Beach
Spend the day as you wish. During migration season Hervey Bay is a fantastic location for observing humpback whales. Why not spend the morning whale watching? Tonight board the Spirit of Queensland for an overnight train ride to Airlie Beach. On day 10 roll into Proserpine train station in the early morning and explore this coastal haven as the sun rises.
Day 11 Airlie Beach
Enjoy a full day tour of Whitehaven Beach, sat in the centre of the Great Barrier Reef.
Day 12 Airlie Beach to Lucinda
Continue your journey along the coast to Lucinda and stop to admire breathtaking landscapes along the way.
Day 13 Lucinda to Mission Beach
Learn about the culture and history at Mungalla station where you’ll meet the Nywaigi people. Then head out and explore the Mungalla wetlands in search of aquatic birdlife. End the day in the coastal town of Mission Beach
Day 14 Mission Beach to Cairns
After breakfast drive to Millaa Millaa Falls for a nature walk and a soak in the natural pools. Upon arrival in Cairns your tour comes to an end.
