Journey
Discovering Australia’s breathtaking wilderness and sheer scale is a spellbinding experience by rail. The Ghan travels from the tropical Top End and through the incredible Red Centre to Adelaide.
Regarded as one of the world’s greatest rail journeys, The Ghan (known as The Ghan Expedition when travelling southbound) is the ultimate rail adventure through the heart of Australia. It promises access to parts of Australia no other holiday can come close to – the perfect balance of comfort and adventure. Enjoy included Off-Train Experiences at Katherine and Alice Springs. Alternatively, disembark at Alice Springs and explore the Red Centre at your own pace for a week before re-boarding The Ghan or taking an onward flight.

The Ghan Expedition
From March to October, The Ghan Expedition from Darwin to Adelaide 4 day journey operates with additional Off-Train Excursions in Alice Springs and Coober Pedy.

Together with premium amenities and luxuriously soft linen this is an elevated experience with exclusive access to the Gold Premium Lounge and dining carriage.
Gold Service - Compact and comfortable, Gold Service Twin Cabins offer an enjoyable way to experience a journey across this vast country. During the day, the cabins offer a three-seater lounge, converting to upper and lower sleeping berths at night. Relax in the Outback Explorer Lounge and mingle with your fellow guests then dine in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant. With its emphasis on fresh regional produce, this is sure to be a highlight of the journey.
