Ryokan Adumaya, Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Trail

Nestled within Yunomine Onsen, a remote village set in a valley within the heart of the sacred mountains of Kumano Kodo, this charming ryokan, founded by a priest in the 19th century, is the perfect place to stop on the pilgrimage trail. Explore the picturesque old town, a collection of quaint traditional inns and shops and one of Japan’s oldest hot spring towns, before enjoying a soothing soak in one of the property’s two elegant onsens (hot spring baths), one of which boasts a tranquil garden setting. In the evening, dine on authentic Kaiseki cuisine using seasonal ingredients locally sourced. Rooms are bright and simple with traditional Japanese furnishings featuring tatami mat flooring, sliding screen doors and shared bathroom facilities.
