Tangalooma Island Resort, Moreton Island Expert Review
Heather Stokes
Tangalooma Island Resort is a great option for families and only a short ferry transfer from Brisbane.
The beach is beautiful with plenty of activities and feeding the wild dolphins was a unique experience, my kids loved it. There's lots to do here including snorkelling around the shipwrecks, boat tours, quad biking, kayaking/SUP, island tours etc. The staff at the activity centre were really helpful for planning what to do. Some activities are free, others payable. There's some good walking trails that take in the beach, sand dunes and the bush which the kids enjoyed, as well as time in the pool, learning about the dolphins and pelican feeding.
We stayed in a Family Suite which was really spacious with a separate bedroom, an outdoor patio area and kitchenette which was handy for breakfast/snacks. There's a variety of dining options, the chippie/pizzeria take-out was the kids favourite and they do great ice-creams too! We didn't do any snorkelling as the weather wasn't great whilst we were here but there's loads to do and the real highlight was the wild dolphin feeding.
Top tip: Head straight to the activity centre to plan your stay and book in for your dolphin feeding.
