Pangkor Laut Resort, Pulau Pangkor Laut

I really loved my time at Pangkor Laut. A fantastic island getaway on a beautiful island, with excellent food, service, scenery and facilities. I stayed in a Hill Villa, which afforded great views of the beaches below and the jungle behind. The room was very tasteful in its design and was extremely comfortable.

The island is fairly extensive, however you can get a shuttle around; namely to Emerald Bay which is beautiful, with warm waters and a beach bar to boot. Furthermore, the pool area is nicely done with an infinity pool overlooking the Sea Villas, again with a bar in close proximity.

The highlight for me was the Spa Village. A hub of zen and relaxation, you are guided through numerous treatments as well as time to relax in onsen baths before your chosen treatment. I had a massage and it was absolutely fantastic, the perfect antidote to a couple of weeks in sweaty Asian cities.

Food is also a highlight, with the aforementioned bars where you can have lunch, but also in the heart of the resort are the main restaurants. The Feast Village is where you take breakfast, and for lunch and dinner is also a buffet restaurant, all of which are of a high standard with a nice array of dishes from Indian to Chinese to Western. My favourite was Uncle Lim's serving excellent Chinese and Nyonya cuisine. Finally, Fisherman's Cove is the gourmet option and the food was excellent.
