Trailfinders' Rosie Thomson gives an insight into Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan, Ubud
Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan, Ubud Expert Review
Rosie Thomson
Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan is an exceptional property and definitely has the wow factor! We were given a traditional Ubud welcome with sashes and frangipanis as we walked over the jungle canopy into the hotel. It really is breathtaking. The property and the welcome was everything that you would expect from a Four Seasons.
We stayed in a Duplex Suite which was a beautiful two floor affair with the upper lounge being a mezzanine level and the lower floor including the bedroom, bathroom and dressing room. The two storey windows overlooked the valley and the river, plus there were verandas on both levels. It had one of the comfiest beds I had ever slept in.
The two-tiered pool was small but offered lovely views and was never crowded.
Breakfast was extensive, unlimited and a la carte. It offered classic dishes with an Indonesian twist plus dishes from Japan, the Middle East, India, etc.
It’s worth noting that there’s not much to do in the vicinity of the hotel and most guests spend their day relaxing on site. The hotel offers activities throughout the day such as yoga, garden tours, traditional music concerts. It’s only a short drive to the centre of Ubud and the hotel offers a shuttle or will arrange a taxi.
This property would suit people that want a luxurious, relaxing and unique stay or maybe honeymooners who want a short stay in a really outstanding property. This will be one of those hotels that you’ll always remember so is perfect for a special occasion.
Top tip: try the Sayan House for sundowners (turn left outside of the property and it’s a five minute walk). Not only do they have happy hour from 4pm-6pm, but you’ll also get the best views of the Four Seasons from here. Overlooking it from their terrace really makes you appreciate (even more) the beauty of this amazing property.
