Trailfinders' Inca McFarlane gives an insight into Views Boutique Hotel & Spa, Wilderness
Views Boutique Hotel & Spa, Wilderness Expert Review
Inca McFarlane
The views at the Views Boutique Hotel & Spa didn't disappoint! Floor to ceiling glass windows take presence in the lobby, restaurant and wellness emporium allowing you to look down over Wilderness Beach and the stunning Indian Ocean. Artwork by local artists take up the remaining wall space so it really is beautiful whichever direction you look.
We stayed in a ground floor Sea Facing Room which offered stunning views over the beach and ocean. Each morning we sat out on the balcony in our cosy gowns (supplied by the hotel) and drank hot chocolates - it was a lovely way to start the day! The sea facing rooms have a glass window in the bathroom - it allows you to see the ocean when you shower but anyone sharing your room can also see you, so those travelling with friends may want more privacy. For those wanting more space, a bathtub (and bathroom shutters for privacy!) upgrading to the suites is a necessity. It's definitely worth paying for the sea facing categories but if budget is tight or the room availability is limited, the partial views are still decent.
The service at the hotel was really good. We received a warm welcome and staff were great with restaurant recommendations, directions and local intel. The hotel only allows children age 7 years upwards and have a strict capacity of two in a room, but interconnecting rooms are available for families.
Top tip: the town of Wilderness is only a five minute drive away. I highly recommend The Girls Al Fresco Restaurant which does a beautiful ostrich steak and amazing prawns!
