Trailfinders' Josie Taylor gives an insight into Amakhala Hlosi Game Lodge
Amakhala Hlosi Game Lodge Expert Review
Josie Taylor
Amakhala Hlosi Game Lodge is a perfect lodge for families or those going on their first safari experience. The game drives themselves are incredible! We saw four of the big five and found that the landscape was perfect as there was a mixture of dense bush areas and open plains which made spotting animals easy. The rangers are extremely knowledgeable and are willing to stop and explain anything that is of interest to you. You can also spot animals from the lodge itself; during our stay there were two hippos residing in the watering hole nearby that you can safely watch (as it's fenced off) whilst eating al fresco.
The lodges themselves come with a large bed, a decking area, and a bath - they are very comfortable and I got a lovely sleep for the duration of my stay.
Top tip: We didn't get time to do the stargazing activity but I would definitely recommend, as the sky is so clear and looked absolutely gorgeous at night - we could see the Milky Way from our decking area!
