Trailfinders' Anna Shepherdson gives an insight into The Commodore
The Commodore Expert Review
Anna Shepherdson
The Commodore is a really great 4★ hotel in an excellent location just a short walk from the V&A Waterfront, making it a solid option for a first time visit to Cape Town.
We stayed in an Executive Room which was spacious and had a balcony with a great view of Table Mountain - definitely worth the upgrade if you can.
The staff were helpful and friendly, and the area felt safe to walk around at night, very easy to get around and get Ubers from here too. We only ate breakfast here, but food was of good quality with lots of variety and there was a lovely courtyard where you can dine in the warmer months.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good location and value for money.
Top tip: upgrade to an Executive Room for a room on the highest floor and a balcony with views of Table Mountain.
