The best known of the cloud forests is probably Monteverde but there are many other reserves in the country, each providing an excellent insight into this wonderful ecosystem. These enchanting forests have an almost mystical feel to them, especially at dusk or dawn when mists swirl along the forest floor and many creatures are at their most active. Take a twilight tour to see the canopy comes alive after dark and creatures who are normally hidden come out to play!
The temperatures in the cloud forest can be a bit lower than most other regions of Costa Rica so it's worth taking something warm for the mornings and evenings.
Nobody offers more ways to explore than with Trailfinders.
Here's a snapshot of some of our most popular holidays visiting the cloud forest. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, click on the link below them to see our complete range of holidays and tours in Costa Rica.
