Safari
Our Kenya safari holidays offer the quintessential safari experience, with the chance to see the Big 5 and a host of other wildlife roaming endless savannah plains dotted with acacia trees.

As well as iconic locations such as the unmissable Masai Mara, scenic Amboseli with its stunning Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop and the shimmering lakes of the Great Rift Valley, Kenya also offers lesser known gems such as Samburu Game Reserve and the Laikipia Plateau. For the ultimate Kenya safari experience, why not add a hot air balloon flight over the Masai Mara?

Whether you want to visit a variety of reserves, or are just looking for a few days wildlife viewing as part of your holiday, prefer a private safari or a group adventure – there is a Kenya safari for you! WHEN TO GO ON A KENYA SAFARI HOLIDAY

The best time to go on safari in Kenya is generally during the dry season months of June to October but a wide range of wildlife can be spotted year round and each season brings its own advantages.

The wildebeest migration is a factor for many visitors to Kenya, and whilst it is unpredictable and varies with rainfall, Kenya’s migration season is generally July to October.
January to March
January to March
The start of the year is generally dry and warm before the rains come at the end of March, and it is a great time for wildlife viewing with the animals easier to spot in the short grass. Birdlife is also more abundant around Kenya’s Rift Valley lakes until February.
April to May/June
April to May/June
The ’long rains’ come to Kenya from April through to May or June, bringing daily downpours and increased humidity. Some tracks can be trickier to negotiate but the main parks will be lush and green with fewer vehicles around, good game viewing and lower prices.
June to October
June to October
The most popular time to visit, the dry season brings clear skies, cool temperatures and excellent game viewing. The sparse vegetation and arid climate means animals congregate around waterholes. The migratory herds reach the Masai Mara by mid August where they remain until mid October.
Late October/ November to December
Late October/ November to December
From late October to December the ‘short rains’ arrive meaning sporadic light showers which should not affect your wildlife viewing. By now most of the wildebeest and zebra masses have left the Masai Mara and are heading south through Tanzania’s Serengeti.
